Residential Care
At Fewcott House, we believe that truly personalised care begins with understanding the individual—their life story, daily routines, personal preferences, and what makes them feel comfortable, safe, and at home.
Personal Preferences
From favourite meals and music to preferred ways of spending the day, residents’ choices guide everything we do. We tailor our support to reflect individual likes and dislikes, helping each person feel respected, comfortable, and at home.
Daily Routines
Familiar routines provide a sense of structure, comfort, and independence. Whether it’s how someone prefers to start their morning, when they like to eat, or how they wind down in the evening, we do our best to maintain those habits that matter most.
Life Backgrounds
By getting to know each resident’s history, culture, and experiences, we can provide care that is empathetic, engaging, and meaningful. Every person is unique, and their care should reflect that.
Everyday Support with Dignity
We provide gentle, respectful assistance with washing, dressing, and feeding—always with a focus on preserving dignity, privacy, and personal choice. Our compassionate staff are trained to offer this support in a way that feels natural and never intrusive, empowering residents to remain as independent as possible while ensuring they feel safe and valued.
At Fewcott House, our goal is to create not just a care plan—but a true sense of home, belonging, and individual care, making your family feel part of ours.
Life at Fewcott House Nursing Home
Staff availability
We have staff (including a Nurse) on site 24 hours a day and seven days a week. Our staff to resident ratio is 5 residents to one carer plus a Nurse, Senior Carer and Activities Co-ordinator.
Housekeeping
Laundry/Cleaning is carried out in house and we have a Housekeeping Team to make sure everything is kept clean, complies to regulations and creates a comfortable home from home experience.
Catering
All food is cooked from scratch unless on some occasions where a resident may require a special diet. A daily menu is published and all residents are asked to choose from the menu but can anything they wish should the menu not have anything they fancy. A tea trolley will offer tea/coffee/soft drinks/biscuits and cakes three times a day but fluids and other snacks are also offered as and when necessary. We can order in any specific foods that our residents/family members request and all dietary requirements are catered for e.g. vegetarian, vegan, halal, diabetic, gluten free, dairy free etc.
Care Designed Around You
At Fewcott House, we take a person-centred approach to everything we do. Our wide range of activities and therapies are shaped by the individual choices and preferences of our residents—ensuring everyone has the opportunity to engage in meaningful, enjoyable experiences.
These activities are open to all who join us, whether you’re staying with us long-term or just here for respite. Every individual is carefully assessed, allowing us to tailor activities not only for residents, but also for family members and carers, creating a more inclusive and supportive environment.
We also offer flexible respite so whether you’re planning a holiday, a shopping trip, or simply need a well-earned break, you can do so with complete peace of mind—knowing your loved one is receiving the highest standard of care in a safe, welcoming setting.
Fewcott House and the Use of Person-Centred Software in Care Delivery
Fewcott House has utilised person-centred software since its inception, serving as a vital tool in enhancing the quality of our care. This system acts as a centralised database where each resident’s needs are recorded by the individual staff members responsible for completing specific tasks. As a result, it creates a detailed and evolving record of the care provided.
Through this software, we can continually evaluate the standard of care and develop personalised care plans. These plans are tailored not only to the resident’s current needs but also incorporate their personal values, beliefs, and advance decisions.
An initial assessment is carried out by the nursing team, during which medical information is gathered and relevant professionals who are familiar with the resident are contacted. This information is crucial for the creation of effective and holistic care plans.
Each care plan is a structured document divided into specific areas of care. It identifies the resident’s individual care needs, the desired outcomes or goals, and the specific actions required to achieve those outcomes. These plans are dynamic and are reviewed regularly to ensure they continue to reflect the resident’s needs accurately.
Care plan reviews can be conducted by nursing staff and often involve relatives or next of kin, especially in situations where the resident lacks the mental capacity to express their wishes. Other professionals such as the GP or Care Home Support Services (CHSS) are also involved in the review and development process, offering their medical expertise to guide and support the implementation of effective care strategies.
We will always remember you all and all of your kindness, each and every one of you. Thank you.
